FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

The Ubombo Schools Trust was founded by Ubombo Sugar Limited to administer five independent schools providing quality education at Big Bend in Eswatini. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to the above vacancy that has arisen within the Trust.

THE JOB

The job reports to the Schools Manager and is responsible for the Trust’s financial accounting operations, especially managing the budget, revenue collection, payrolls, cash flow and the general ledgers of the schools.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Coordinate all issues relating to finance that include payment of suppliers and vendors, staff entitlements, statutory requirements and all recurrent running costs of the schools.
• Prepare annual and monthly budget reports.
• Collection of school fees.
• Support the preparation for and coordination of the annual audits.
• General ledger maintenance.
• Responsible for regulatory reporting.
• Manage costs to ensure that costs are kept to a minimum.
• Advise on and control the Trust’s cash flow.
• Risk management.

THE APPLICANT

• Must have B Com (Accounting) or equivalent.
• Must have completed articles with a reputable audit firm.
• A qualified professional Accountant or progress towards attaining the CA designation.
• Good business analysis skills to generate business insight and add measurable value.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise, manage complexity and deal with multiple stakeholders.
