Tambankulu Estates invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Accounts Clerk within the Finance Department.

About the Role

The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations through accurate processing of accounts payable, debtors’ accounts, school fees administration, general ledger reconciliations, cash flow updates, tax schedules, and audit support. The role requires a detail-oriented, reliable, and deadline-driven individual with strong transactional accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing supplier invoices, including verification, matching, tax adjustments, rebates, discounts, and creditor postings.
  • Raising customer invoices for commercial activities, including livestock sales, seed cane, crops, rentals, electricity, and sundry sales.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly customer statements and following up on outstanding debtor balances.
  • Administering school fees accounts, including termly billing, payroll deduction schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Performing monthly general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing tax-related schedules and supporting timely Revenue Authority remittances.
  • Updating daily cash flow projections and preparing treasury bank balance reports.
  • Assisting with year-end stock counts, internal and external audits, and maintaining proper filing and documentation systems.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger reconciliations.
  • Experience in a corporate or agricultural environment will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in enterprise accounting systems, preferably SAP FI module.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations, data matching, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax, and related compliance requirements.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict month-end reporting deadlines.
