Job purpose:
To take the lead in implementing the Centre’s Knowledge Management Strategy. To advise the center on knowledge management and information systems. To oversee the management and dissemination of information within and outside the organization. To ensure that the information needs of the organization are met in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
Key Result Areas:
- Social media, website and newspaper management
- Production of annual reports
- Support for the production of research outputs including working papers, policy briefs, analytical reports, news articles and posts
- Documentation of best practice and knowledge sharing
- Stakeholder management and relationship building
- ESEPARC research output repository development and management
- Assistant board secretary to chief executive director
- Development and implementation of ESEPARC Knowledge management manual
- Maintenance of a current, accessible institutional knowledge base aligned with ESEPARC’s research agenda
- Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of knowledge repositories, databases, and document management systems and software
- Documentation of organisational processes and systems for effective operations and to ensure institutional memory is preserved, particularly around staff transitions
- Contributing to the design and operationalisation of M&E frameworks by ensuring data and evidence flows are properly documented and maintaining indicator tracking for results reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead, plan, and support the implementation of the Knowledge Management Strategy.
- To manage the relationship with third party software providers, extranet, membership database, Smartphone APP, and online survey tools.
- To provide leadership for knowledge management and information dissemination to all stakeholders.
- To provide a strategic view on the further development of knowledge management systems and practices in order to support the work and development of the Centre into the future.
- To ensure that all systems supporting Knowledge Management work in an integrated fashion and are appropriately supported and developed to guarantee a high and continuing level of efficiency benefit to the Centre.
- Monitor and share data illustrating the Centre’s progress in achieving its strategic objectives.
- To manage, maintain, and develop the extranet system, so that information and data is accessible to all stakeholders.
- To take the technical lead in relation to the Centre’s websites and APPs including project managing development work and correcting broken links.
- To undertake research on and disseminate the results to relevant parties.
- To undertake other duties which may be appropriate within the areas of responsibility of the post.
Knowledge, skill and experience:
- Degree in Knowledge Management, Information Science, Library Science, Business Administration (MBA), Communications, Social Sciences or equivalent;
- Knowledge of research;
- Monitoring and evaluation;
- Marketing and communication skills;
- Knowledge of laws pertaining to data storage, use, and privacy;
- Experience in writing and publishing;
- Coordination and organising
- Well established interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
