VACANCY: CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER – ACAT LILIMA ESWATINI
ACAT Lilima Eswatini is a local Christian NGO based in Lobamba Lomdzala involved in rural development. We are seeking a qualified, compassionate, trustworthy, and professional individual to fill the position of Child Protection Officer. The successful candidate will report to the Program Coordinator and will play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting vulnerable families within communities. Further, for this position, we are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn and grow his/her career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
- Implement child protection activities in line with project objectives.
- Support community-based child protection mechanisms.
- Facilitate child-friendly activities and safe spaces.
- Promote child rights awareness in communities.
CASE MANAGEMENT
- Identify, assess, and document cases of vulnerable children.
- Provide direct support and referrals to appropriate services (health, legal, psychosocial).
- Develop and monitor individual care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of cases.
SAFEGUARDING AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensure adherence to child safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Report and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Train staff and community volunteers on child protection and safeguarding.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
- Work with community leaders, caregivers, and children to strengthen protection systems.
- Facilitate parenting sessions on positive discipline and nurturing care.
- Support child participation in decision-making processes.
COORDINATION AND NETWORKING
- Liaise with government departments, NGOs, and service providers.
- Participating in child protection coordination meetings/forums.
- Strengthening referral pathways and partnerships.
MONITORING AND REPORTING
- Collect and report data on child protection indicators.
- Contribute to project reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities.
DELIVERABLES
- Timely case management reports.
- Monthly activity reports.
- Updated child protection database.
- Documentation of success stories and lessons learned.
- Training and awareness session reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in child protection or social services.
- Knowledge of child protection systems and legal frameworks.
- Experience in case management and community-based work.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.

- Good report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
