Location: Big Bend, Eswatini
Reports to: Medical Officer

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Perform imaging procedures (x-rays and ultrasounds) to aid accurate patient diagnoses
• Assess patient history and clinical indications to determine the most appropriate imaging procedure and technique
• Interact with patients to offer psychological support and address concerns regarding imaging procedures
• Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards
• Use portable devices to conduct diagnostic scans on patients who cannot move to the radiology unit
• Monitor patients, ensuring their safety during imaging procedures
• Log and organize image results, develop films, assist with interpretation of radiology results
• Maintain proper records of patient details ensuring confidentiality
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines to minimize risk of exposure to ionizing radiation
• Monitor stock levels, conduct inventory checks and manage radiology consumables
• Ensure appropriate maintenance, sterilization, storage and operational readiness of radiology equipment
• Direct and supervise Radiology assistants and trainee Radiographers
• Assist in timely submission of claims to medical aid
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control guidelines and OSHA standards
• Adhere to SHERQ, Competition Law, and Antibribery and Corruption (ABC) policies

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostic Radiography) / Radiologic Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Competence in diagnostic ultrasound and reporting
• 3 years relevant work experience
• Experience with RIS, PACS, and other healthcare software (added advantage)
• Full registration and valid practicing license with the Eswatini Medical and Dental Council
• Basic computer literacy
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of and adherence to radiation safety practices and guidelines
