VACANCY: LEGAL & COMPLIANCE OFFICER
ABOUT THE POSITION
Impumelelo Savings & Credit Co-operative Society Limited invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Legal & Compliance Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring operational processes and procedures to ensure that the Society complies with applicable legal regulations, internal policies and ethical standards. This position sits within the Legal & Compliance Department and reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal Interpretation: Interpret relevant legislation and provide guidance on compliance requirements.
Policy Review: Review and interpret internal policies to ensure legal and regulatory alignment.
Compliance Audits: Conduct compliance audits across the Society.
Legal Advisory: Provide legal advice to EXCO and the Board.
Reporting: Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly Legal & Compliance reports for the CEO, Board and relevant stakeholders.
Risk Mitigation: Support the mitigation of legal and compliance risks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements: LLB Law qualification.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience as a Compliance Officer.
Other Requirements: Knowledge of SACCOS business processes and functions | Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
