POSITION

Business Analyst
Organization: Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Conducting high-quality research, generating strategic insights, and contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based policies and initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research & Analysis

• Conduct research and analysis on investment and trade performance, priority sectors, economic developments, and the business environment
• Undertake economic, statistical, sectoral, and market analyses to identify opportunities and challenges on trade and investment
• Develop investor intelligence products, investment profiles, sector reports, competitiveness assessments, and economic outlook reports
• Conduct benchmarking studies and comparative analyses against regional and international best practices
• Conduct policy analysis to contribute to policy briefs, position papers and regulatory research to assess barriers to investment and trade

Monitoring, Evaluation & Performance Management

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Authority’s M&E Framework
• Track, monitor, and evaluate organizational and departmental KPIs and strategic targets
• Support impact assessments and evaluations of EIPA programmes, projects, and interventions

Data Management & Analytics

• Manage, analyse, and interpret large datasets from internal and external sources
• Support development and maintenance of databases, data repositories, and business intelligence systems
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across reporting systems

Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Management

• Support engagement with Government Ministries, regulatory agencies, development partners, investors, businesses, and research institutions
• Prepare presentations, briefing notes, technical papers, and knowledge products for stakeholders
• Contribute to the development and dissemination of research findings and strategic insights

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Demography or closely related quantitative field
• Postgraduate qualification in Economics, Statistics, or Monitoring & Evaluation (added advantage)
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in economic research, statistical analysis, M&E, policy analysis, strategic planning, or business analytics
• Demonstrated experience in data collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
• Experience in developing performance indicators, results frameworks, monitoring systems, and evaluation tools
