Sales/Workshop Clerk

Macsteel Eswatini invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Sales/Workshop Clerk, based at our Matsapha facility. Reporting directly to the Sales Supervisor, this pivotal role provides comprehensive administrative, clerical, and technical support to the Workshop department. The successful candidate will act as a vital link between our customers, technical drawings, and the production floor—driving workshop efficiency through accurate cost estimation, seamless material coordination, meticulous record keeping, and exceptional front-facing customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-in workshop customers, providing professional assistance, handling inquiries, and managing ongoing customer updates.
- Analyse technical drawings to generate accurate quotations for workshop orders.
- Efficiently coordinate the movement of materials for workshop orders, liaising closely with Stock Controller to track outstanding purchase orders and expedite deliveries.
- Create, issue, and track workshop job cards to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion.
- Prepare and distribute comprehensive weekly operational reports and actively participate in workshop meetings to provide status updates.
- File and maintain all workshop documentation in an orderly and retrievable manner, both electronically and physically.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of clerical or administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential.
- Experience working with ERP or stock management systems is an added advantage.

- Strong administrative and organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
