The Ministry of Health through the Cooperative Agreement is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to fill the following vacancy:


TB CLINICAL ADVISOR


Main Purpose

The TB Clinical Advisor will provide technical assistance to the National TB Control Programme (NTCP) and implementing partners to ensure TB/DR-TB/TB-HIV activities align with national guidelines, strategic plans, and international standards.

The role focuses on:

  • Strategic planning & programming
  • Coordination & capacity building
  • Health systems strengthening
  • Monitoring & evaluation
  • Research, innovation & policy development
  • Improving treatment outcomes nationwide

Reports To

TB Program Manager

Duration

May 2026 – June 2026 (with possibility of extension)


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance on TB/DR-TB policy development, planning, and regulation
  • Support expansion of diagnosis and treatment access
  • Strengthen case finding, prevention, and quality care
  • Support Global Fund TB/HIV grant applications
  • Coordinate program reviews (mid-term & end-term)
  • Ensure implementation of cohort reviews and quality improvement actions
  • Support decentralization and scale-up of TB/DR-TB services
  • Strengthen TB clinical and laboratory systems
  • Lead development and revision of guidelines, SOPs, and training materials
  • Support TB/DR-TB research and surveillance systems
  • Coordinate nationwide program monitoring and supervision
  • Train healthcare workers on TB/DR-TB management
  • Support introduction of new TB drugs and treatment regimens
  • Lead innovation (e.g., CAD X-ray, sequencing technologies)
  • Document and share best practices locally and internationally
  • Support clinical advisory committees and technical working groups
  • Assist MOH in epidemic response coordination
  • Perform any other assigned duties

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Medical Degree
  • Postgraduate training in Public Health or Epidemiology
  • Minimum 5 years experience in TB/HIV or public health programs
  • Experience in training, guideline development, and curriculum design
  • Experience in report writing and research/publications
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of statistical software (SPSS, Stata, EpiInfo)
  • Willingness to travel and take on additional responsibilities
