SENIOR PRUDENTIAL ANALYST (1)
We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the Senior Prudential Analyst role within the Prudential Supervision Department.
Reporting to the Manager Prudential Supervision, the Senior Prudential Analyst will assist in the assessment of micro-prudential risks of financial services providers to achieve soundness and financial stability of the sector. To participate in the development of supervisory tools, instruments and methodologies keeping abreast with international regulatory standards. Mentor Prudential Analysts in day-to-day operations of the Prudential Supervision Department.
Responsibilities

Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Contribute to development of the prudential supervisory frameworks and conduct reviews according to international standards that encompass market, credit, liquidity, operational, and other relevant risks within the regulated entities. This includes assessing the adequacy of risk management controls.

Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to proactively manage financial stability risks.

Participate in onsite inspection and produce inspection reports for Department’s consideration.

Collaborate with other departments within the FSRA, including Intervention and Enforcement, Market Conduct, and the Research Unit, to contribute to the formulation of regulatory policies, guidelines, and standards.

Review allocated Financial Service Providers’ (FSPs) data for accuracy.

Participate in designing financial models, templates and innovate automated processes for prudential supervision.

Collate quantitative and qualitative periodic returns, audited financial statements, audit reports, management letters, actuarial reports, and any other relevant information.

Conduct periodic analysis of allocated FSPs’ data to produce micro-prudential and macro-prudential indicators.

Analyse financial statements, risk exposure, and capital adequacy measures of supervised entities to evaluate their stability, solvency, and overall financial health.

Participate in FSRA periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports).

Engaging with representatives from supervised institutions, industry associations, and other regulatory bodies to convey regulatory expectations, address inquiries, and foster a constructive working relationship with supervised entities.
Required Qualifications and Key Competencies
-
A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field.

MSc/MBA would be an added advantage.

3 years’ work experience in financial services.

Strong financial and problem-solving acumen as well as qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

Governance, risk management, compliance and information/knowledge management.
-
Financial Regulation.
-
Must have a hand-on and strategic approach to work assignments.

Sound knowledge of the FSRA Act and all financial services laws.
-
Analyst supervision, Strategic planning, Risk Management, Digital Fluency, & Business writing.
