JOB DETAILS
- Job Title: Senior Nursing Officer
- Department: Programs / Clinical

- Reporting To: Program Director
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science (Community Health Nursing & Midwifery)
- Certificate in Integrated Management of Adolescent and Adult Illnesses (IMAI)
- Certificate in Nurse-led ART Initiation (NARTIS)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role and mobile outreach services
- Registration with the Eswatini Nursing Council

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with mentoring and supervisory capacity, with strong emotional intelligence
- Initiative-driven and able to manage complex situations
- Results-driven
- Fluency in English and SiSwati
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office package)
- Youth-friendly and supportive of diverse learning environments
- Ability to influence, promote innovation, and uphold accountability standards
- Willingness to work flexible and evening hours as required
- Ability to display a positive attitude towards colleagues and clients
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the development of FLAS annual business plan and quarterly review meetings
- Provide mentoring and supportive supervision of the clinical team on HIV management, SRH, TB, cancer, mobile outreach services, and supply chain management
- Provide oversight on tracking facility performance and developing corrective actions on areas of underperformance
- Coordinate and monitor timely clinical operations of all biomedical projects
- Ensure patient comfort and safety by maintaining high standards of care and professionalism
- Ensure the clinical team maintains data privacy and confidentiality
- Ensure provision of youth-friendly services and clear referral pathways for clients
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Periodically assess performance of the clinical team and conduct one-on-one feedback sessions
- Participate in concept paper development and proposal writing
- Participate in national events and regional MoH meetings as required
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Supervisor
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Achieve 85% of performance contract targets
- Motivated and performing subordinates
- Sanitation, cleanliness, and infection control
- Successful training of student nurses
- Observance of rules and regulations at clinics
- Production of informative reports
- Maintenance of specimens and cultures with proper identification
- Excellent equipment care and maintenance
- Positive feedback on communication skills
