Position Overview
This position serves as a senior contributor within Global Human Rights, Legal and operates under the strategic direction of the Head of Global Human Rights. The Senior Director supports the design and implementation of human rights governance, compliance and risk management systems, while advancing scalable, technology-enabled solutions that integrate human rights into business strategy and global operations.
The role requires a high degree of independence, the ability to assess complex dynamics, anticipate emerging risks, and guide decisions informed by legal, regulatory and human rights considerations.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance: Lead core components of the Global Human Rights Strategy, translating strategy into actionable priorities and measurable outcomes. Serve as a strategic adviser linking human rights to enterprise risk and business value.
- Regulatory Intelligence: Monitor global human rights regulations, disclosures and due diligence requirements. Ensure governance documents remain current and anticipate regulatory changes.
- Enterprise Risk Management & Due Diligence: Establish and operationalize human rights due diligence processes supported by technology platforms for scalable risk identification and monitoring.
- Crisis Management & Geopolitical Navigation: Navigate complex geopolitical environments and regulatory ambiguity. Engage stakeholders to resolve sensitive issues while protecting reputation.
- Innovation, Technology & Digital Transformation: Embed technology-enabled solutions, including AI tools, to enhance monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, NGOs, regulators and communities. Collaborate across multiple functions globally.
- Regional Focus & Operating Unit Partnership: Serve as the primary human rights liaison for the region, adapting global strategy to local markets and addressing region-specific risks.

- Develop and execute strategic action plans for emerging human rights issues
- Interpret global and local human rights laws into practical business guidance
- Oversee due diligence programs and transition to risk-based models
- Manage negotiations and resolve disputes effectively
- Foster collaboration across functions and geographies
- Lead regional and cross-border human rights strategy implementation
- Drive industry collaboration and engagement with external stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Law, Human Rights, Public Policy, International Relations, or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in compliance, governance, legal, or human rights roles
- Experience in multinational or global corporate environments
- Strong understanding of international human rights standards
- Proven ability to build compliance systems and manage complex issues
- Experience in risk identification, due diligence, and policy development
- Proficiency in AI tools and technology-enabled compliance solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across cultures and navigate complex environments
- Fluency in English (additional languages advantageous)
