ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales function and drive profitable growth across the pharmaceutical, medical, and veterinary sector.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution, while also taking ownership of sales strategy, marketing direction, and building structured systems to support long-term growth.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
SALES STRATEGY, STRUCTURE & MARKETING
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth
- Build and refine structures, processes, and systems within the sales department
- Drive marketing initiatives aligned to sales objectives (promotions, product pushes, campaigns)
- Support positioning and growth of key product lines in the market
SALES PERFORMANCE
- Drive overall sales and profitability
- Manage team targets and overall performance
- Oversee sales execution across all product lines
TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team
- Build a high-performance, accountable sales culture
- Support training and development of team members
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Identify and grow new business opportunities
- Expand market reach across healthcare segments
- Support product launches and market penetration
CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ensure effective market coverage
- Monitor customer trends and competitor activity
STOCK & SALES ALIGNMENT
- Work with procurement to align stock with demand
- Support movement of key and strategic product lines
- Ensure coordination between sales and supply
REPORTING & OPERATIONS
- Oversee sales reporting and performance tracking
- Ensure smooth day-to-day sales operations
- Maintain a structured and organised sales environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior related role
- Proven experience in sales management (pharmaceutical/medical preferred)
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Ability to develop sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and systems
- Commercial mindset focused on profitability
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of sales and stock systems (e.g. Sage Evolution or similar)
- Ability to use data and reporting to drive decisions
- Self-driven, disciplined, detail- and results-oriented
