Safety Officer

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated and competent safety officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment. The successful candidate must have proven experience in safety management and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuous inspection of project sites

• Verification of tools & equipment quality

• Enforcing safety guidelines & programs

• Conducting accident investigations

• Responding to worker safety concerns

• Arranging OSHA site evaluations

• Construction health & safety plan prep

• Assessment of subcontractor safety plans

• Promoting safe practices on site

• Carrying out emergency drills

• Verifying safety reports for government

• Communications with government depts

• Coordinating hazardous materials/waste

• Monitoring of safety documents/reports

Requirements

• National Diploma/Certificate in OHS

• Medical fitness certificate required

• Minimum 5 years experience

Added Advantage

• First Aiders Certificate

• Working at Heights Certificate

• SAMTRAC Certificate
