JOB TITLE: REVENUE COLLECTION AGENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following urgent position within the Town Treasurer’s Department. This role forms a critical part of Council’s strategic efforts to strengthen and improve municipal revenue collection.

Job Purpose

To help the Council collect outstanding municipal rates from residential and commercial properties, update customer data, and maintain good relationships with property owners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow up with customers on unpaid rates balances via phone, email, and face-to-face visits.
• Collect outstanding balances from residential and commercial property owners.
• Collect and update accurate customer details and KYC documents.
• Keep clean, written records of all customer communications.
• Meet or exceed monthly collection targets.
• Send out regular email reminders and notifications to overdue accounts.
• Submit regular collection reports to the Revenue Specialist.
• Participate in community meetings and public events to promote collection awareness.

Minimum Requirements

Mandatory:

• Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least one (1) year of experience in finance, billing, debt collection, or revenue administration.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office and ERP systems).
• Strong communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.

Added Advantages:

• Direct experience in debt management or local government revenue collection.
• Ability to handle pressure and meet targets.
• Strong teamwork and leadership potential.

Remuneration

• We offer a competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
• This is a 3-month contract.
