FINANCE MANAGER
The university invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Finance Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the financial operations of the institution, ensuring sound financial governance, effective budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
•Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting plus a professional qualification as a chartered Accountant from a recognized institution
•Minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting or financial management preferably in a higher education institution.
•Minimum three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
•Strong knowledge of financial management practices, accounting standards, and institutional finance.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
• Member of a professional body such as ACCA, CIMA, OSIT
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA
• Experience working in a university or higher-education financial environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Campus director – The purpose of the Finance Manager is to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure effective management of the institution’s financial resources.
• Financial Planning
• Management Financial Reporting
• Compliance Accounting & Operations.
• Leadership and governance.
• Procurement and Asset Management.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Strong leadership, team management, decision-making ability.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
• Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting skills.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, budgeting, and financial systems.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel Essential).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
