JOB ADVERT: PROCUREMENT OFFICER
The purpose of the position is to be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and executing the organization’s procurement processes in line with the Tambuti Estates procurement policy and relevant Procurement Legislation, and the role ensures that all goods, services and works are acquired cost-effectively, transparently and in a timely manner to support the company’s operational needs.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key areas of responsibility:
- Procurement Planning & Coordination
- Procurement of Goods and Services
- Tender Process Support
- Supplier Relationship Maintenance and Contract Monitoring
- Reporting
Key Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and market research ability.
- Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely execution and completion of activities of annual Procurement plans.
- Savings achieved through negotiation or strategic sourcing and prompt responsiveness to procurement queries or support.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration or equivalent.
- Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
- Membership to a professional body will be an added advantage
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3 – 5 years in procurement
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
- Experience in tendering, contract management, and vendor negotiations.
- Experience in inventory management
- Experience in the agricultural industry will be an added advantage.
