VACANCY: PHARMACY SUPERVISOR
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Pharmacy Supervisor to join its clinical and management team. The successful candidate will oversee the hospital’s pharmaceutical services, ensure patient safety, and manage the internal supply chain while maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain & Procurement Management:
Manage procurement of stock and oversee the internal supply chain to maintain stock levels within agreed targets. - Clinical Excellence & Patient Safety:
Work closely with the clinical team to ensure patient safety, monitor adverse drug reactions, and promote optimal therapeutic outcomes. - Financial Oversight:
Maintain contracted tariffs, ensure accurate stock pricing, and guarantee timely and accurate billing of all stock items. - Inventory Control:
Oversee stock control across hospital storage areas and lead the planning, organisation, and execution of stock-taking processes. - Legal & Policy Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy Act, regulate lawful access to medicines, maintain accurate records, and develop departmental policies. - Leadership & Management:
Supervise pharmacy staff, conduct interviews, participate in the Hospital Management Committee, and liaise with healthcare funders.
Qualifications & Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Eswatini as a Pharmacist with a valid, active license
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a pharmacist (private hospital experience is an advantage)
- Strong computer literacy, including knowledge of hospital systems such as PROCLIN
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Strong problem-solving ability, customer care skills, and ability to perform under pressure
