OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY NURSE
Lomati Mine invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Occupational Health Nurse, a position responsible for providing comprehensive occupational health services and supporting the implementation of safety management systems to ensure a safe, healthy, and legally compliant working environment for all employees and contractors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide primary healthcare and occupational health services to employees
- Conduct medical surveillance programmes (pre-employment, periodic, exit medicals)
- Maintain accurate health records in line with regulatory requirements
- Identify workplace health hazards and recommend control measures
- Support implementation of safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Participate in incident/accident investigations and compile reports
- Deliver health and safety training and awareness programmes
- Monitor compliance with PPE usage and safe work practices
- Liaise with external medical providers and regulatory authorities
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response (first aid, drills, etc.)

- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good report writing and administrative skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential medical information
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing (Occupational Health qualification will be an added advantage)
- Valid nursing license
- Certification or training in Occupational Safety and Health
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in occupational health and/or related field
- Experience in a mining environment will be an added advantage
- First Aid and Basic Life Support certification
