Millwright

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Installation of new grain handling equipment according to specifications
2. Regular maintenance of handling equipment to ensure optimal performance
3. Troubleshooting and repair of machinery breakdowns
4. Performing preventative maintenance tasks to avoid costly downtime
5. Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient operations
6. Following safety protocols and guidelines at all times according to OHS Act and company policies and procedures
7. Perform scheduled inspections with depot managers to identify each depot’s maintenance needs
8. Material requirements planning

Qualifications and Skills

1. Matric / Grade 12
2. Qualified Millwright (Red Seal)
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a millwright in a similar role
4. 3-5 years’ experience with PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems
5. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
6. Knowledge of industrial grain handling equipment and processes
7. Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
8. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
10. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
11. Ability to do mechanical fabrication if needed
12. Willing to work overtime if needed, i.e., break stops
