Eswatini Civil Aviation Authority (ESWACAA), a Category A Public Enterprise responsible for the regulation of Civil Aviation in the Kingdom of Eswatini and the operation of King Mswati III International Airport. ESWACAA carries out its mandate in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
ESWACAA invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Mechanic, tenable in the Automotive Department. The position reports to the Principal Automotive Maintenance Officer and will be stationed at King Mswati III International Airport (Sikhuphe).
1. JOB PURPOSE:
This is a mechanical role responsible for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of various types of automobile and stationery equipment to ensure compliance with ICAO standards.
Key responsibilities:

Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and inspection of airport mechanical systems and equipment.

Perform repairs, adjustments and replacements on mechanical components to ensure optimal functionality.

Assist in diagnosing faults and determining required corrective actions.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with ESWACAA maintenance standards and procedures.

Support the Principal Mechanic in planning and executing preventative maintenance schedules.

Ensure adherence to safety regulations, workplace procedures and aviation standards.
-
Provide mechanical support during operational emergencies and technical incidents.
-
Inspect all tools/equipment/instruments prior to use to prevent accidents.

Plan and order parts to minimize production delays due to tool, equipment and instrument failure (raise requisitions for spares).
2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
i) Qualification
-
Diploma in Heavy Duty Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, Automotive Mechanics (or equivalent).

Valid Heavy Duty Driver’s License.
ii) Work Experience
-
Minimum of one (1) year experience in the maintenance of heavy-duty equipment.

Experience working in a transport, industrial, or high-safety-risk environment.
iii) Added Advantage
-
Certified Mechanic in Diesel Engines
-
Certified Mechanic in Standby Electrical Engines
-
Certified Mechanic in Pneumatics and Transmissions
-
Exposure to the aviation industry
3. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Good communication and record-keeping abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to operational needs.

Good understanding of safety protocols, mechanical systems, and maintenance tools.
