LODGE SUPERVISOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the above position at the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC).
THE JOB
The position is responsible for the overall operation of the lodge: restaurant, kitchen, housekeeping/accommodation, front desk, maintenance and customer service. The Lodge Supervisor will ensure all standards of the lodge provide the best experience for guests and staff alike by maintaining and enhancing a clean, safe work environment that fosters excellence in every respect.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, supervise, co-ordinate and monitor housekeeping/accommodation service staff.
- Assign and review the work of staff.
- Lead, train and coach new staff in job duties, safety procedures and lodge policies.
- Create shift schedules and co-ordinate activities with other departments.
- Provide lodge orientation.
- Evaluate performance of staff and provide feedback to line manager.
- Resolve customer complaints and other work-related problems.
- Assist Chefs with meal planning and inventory control.
- Manage lodge stock through implementation of stock control procedures.
- Manage bookings and communicate effectively with front desk/reservation office.
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports.
- Ensure smooth operation of the lodge.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in hospitality management or a related field.
- 3 years or more work experience in similar role.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience working in a Nature Reserve Lodge will be an added advantage.

Skills:
- Data analysis.
- Report writing.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
Abilities:
- Ability to detect problems.
- Ability to recognize important information and link various data to trace potential causes and look for relevant details.

- Knowledge – have a clear understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry.
- Industry expertise – have ability to anticipate, interpret and respond to changes impacting on functional area.
- Management and leadership – be able to manage resources and influence key decisions.
- Interpersonal Skills – build positive working relationships with others, from internal teams to external stakeholders.
- Communication Skills – be able to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
