LIBRARY SUPPORT ASSISTANT – STUDENT OPPORTUNITY
POSITION OVERVIEW
Flexible on-campus role designed for current IDM students studying towards a Diploma or Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline. Perfect for students who want to gain practical experience while fitting around their academic schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with day-to-day circulation duties (issuing, returning, and renewing books)
- Processing new acquisitions and assisting with cataloging and classification (under supervision)
- Providing front-line reference support and helping students navigate the library catalog and digital resources
- Ensuring collection order through regular shelving, shelf-tidying, and stock checks
- Supporting library outreach activities, such as conducting induction tours for new students
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled at IDM and studying towards a Diploma or Degree (or equivalent) in any field
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet searching
- Willingness to learn specialized library software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be currently enrolled at IDM
