JUNIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER


Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Operations Manager; the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day management of zipper production processes and activities whilst maintaining and implementing company policies, procedures, standards and driving the disciplines of World Class. To focus on driving improvements across quality, cost and delivery, champion change across the Company, ESG/EHS compliance, reporting, team development, and continuous improvement.


Key performance activities (inclusive but not limited to):

  • Manage, monitor and evaluate production processes in accordance to set production targets.

  • Day-to-day management of production personnel, their on-going development and overall performance.

  • Managing production costs.

  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control programs to ensure that Quality standards are met and that quality controls are in place across the Manufacturing Departments.

  • Develop, implement and maintain people, plant, machinery and equipment efficiency improvements.

  • Leading any investigations to identify and resolve any operational problems affecting production.

  • Enforces safety practices and actively promote plant safety, environmental programs and procedures that follow corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluate appropriateness of changes to statutory requirements and recommend changes to policy and legal requirements to enhance productivity.


Education/ experience minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 7–10 years in manufacturing with 3–5 years in production leadership in a senior supervisory or managerial role.

  • Lean manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred) certification an added advantage.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email, and internet.

  • Detailed understanding and experience of manufacturing custom products (Essential).

  • Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools (e.g., MRP/ERP systems), MS Office Suite, and production planning tools (Desirable).

  • A knowledge of quality, environmental, health and safety and continuous improvement principles as well as ISO certification processes related to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 theory and practice (Essential).
