The Key Purpose of this role is to operate, maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality. The role also maintains equipment and process control equipment systems including electrical services within Technical Services, as well as ensure maintenance and troubleshooting on measurement and control.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation systems
- Plan and prepare the job
- Continuously improve (optimize) plant, process equipment and systems
- Maintain and control the process equipment according to SWI
- Carry out calibration schedules
- Ensure cleaning of machines
- Ensure correct operation of field devices
- Ensure plant availability
- Support the team to improve process quality
- Facilitate team problem solving
- Monitor trends and initiate corrective action
- Perform running schedules
- Communicate effectively in teams
- Contribute to self and team development
- Apply 5S standards and practices in the workplace
- Create ,operate and control the process according to SOP’s
- Conduct autonomous maintenance
- Improve personal competence and flexibility
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Utilize short interval control to identify problems
- Apply problem solving techniques to resolve situational problems using VPO.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a Diploma or its Equivalent in Electrical or Electromechanical and / or Trade test on Electrical
- 1 year Prior experience in FMCG/production environment
- Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC Basic training is an added advantage
