HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Health & Safety Officer available in our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough risk assessments of all work activities and equipment to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures..
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Regularly review and update risk assessments to reflect changes in operations or regulations
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and communication strategies.
• Estimate the costs associated with implementing safety measures, such as new equipment, training programs, or facility modifications.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure employees are prepared to respond effectively in case of an emergency
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify and assess hazards.
• Ability to develop and implement effective health and safety programs.
• Ability to conduct investigations and root cause analysis/li>
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the engineering/ manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety laws, regulations, and standards
