About the Company
The Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation (RES) is one of the largest companies in Eswatini and a major producer of sugar and ethanol in the region. The company grows more than 21,000 hectares of irrigated sugarcane and produces over 430,000 tonnes of sugar annually, making it responsible for roughly two-thirds of the country’s sugar production.
RES operates large agricultural estates and sugar mills and continues to expand into renewable energy and beverage products as part of its growth strategy.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of General Manager Commercial, reporting to the Managing Director under the Commercial Division.
Main Purpose of the Job
The General Manager Commercial will oversee revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and business profitability while leading sales and marketing initiatives across the organisation.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities to increase revenue and expand market presence.

Developing and executing the Group’s commercial strategy through market analysis, pricing trends, and regulatory frameworks.

Leading sales and marketing initiatives for ethanol through go-to-market strategies, customer segmentation, and key account planning.

Driving sales performance across domestic and export markets to optimise product mix and maximise profitability.

Building strategic partnerships including joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.

Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as major clients, government bodies, industry leaders, and investors.

Ensuring organisational compliance with laws, regulations, industry standards, and health and safety requirements.

Developing financial strategies to support long-term sustainability and shareholder value.

Overseeing procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with production and operational needs.

Leading the operational and strategic direction of the company’s branded liquor business for domestic and export markets.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
Honours Degree in a Business-related field
-
MBA will be an added advantage
Experience
-
12 – 15 years leadership experience in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development
-
Experience in FMCG or Manufacturing (Sugar or Ethanol industry) will be highly advantageous
