FOUNDATION PHASE TEACHER

Khanyisile Pre & Primary School invites applications from passionate, dedicated and qualified educators for the position of Foundation Phase Teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

1. An undergraduate degree (NQF Level 6) in ECD or B.Ed (Foundation Phase)
2. PGCE in Foundation Phase Education (Honours degree advantageous)
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Foundation Phase Teacher
4. Experience at an ISASA school will be a strong advantage
5. Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills
6. Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills
7. Willing and able to work extended hours (sports and cultural events)
8. Confident and proficient in the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Plan and deliver lessons using modern teaching tools and methods
2. Develop and adapt term plans, including revision and learner support plans
3. Manage classroom environment, discipline and learner engagement
4. Design and manage assessments, moderation and interventions
5. Manage homework, reading programmes and learner progress
6. Plan and manage extramural activities and outings
7. Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
8. Participate in school activities and professional development
