VACANCY- FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

The National Maize Corporation (NMC) is a Category A public enterprise involved in the trading of white maize, premium rice, and sugar beans. The Corporation hereby invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Summary

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports, management of general ledger and project accounts, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role provides financial analysis and information to support management decision-making and to safeguard the Corporation’s financial integrity.

Key Performance Areas

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

a) Preparation, implementation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets and forecasts
b) Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
c) Preparation and review of bank reconciliations, including mobile money reconciliations.
d) Supplier account reconciliations and creditor management
e) Tax compliance and payroll management.
f) Management and reporting of programme accounts, including tracking programme expenditure and funding
g) Preparation of annual financial statements, supporting schedules, and notes for audit purposes
h) Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and internal controls
i) Utilisation of modern computerized accounting systems, preferably SAGE 300

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Registered Accountant (RA) SD with the Eswatini Institute of Accountants.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a supervisory accounting role.
• Experience gained within a professional auditing or accounting firm will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
