POSITION: ELECTRICIAN

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the position of Electrician at Feedmaster. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and machinery, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations, and keeping the plant running smoothly without interruptions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation and testing of machinery, ensuring timely project delivery

  • Wiring PLCs, drives, and contactors in a factory setting, ensuring machinery meets operational standards

  • Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime

  • Attend to machine breakdowns

  • Diagnose root causes of equipment failure

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and fault finding to ensure optimal plant and machinery operation

  • Process improvement

  • Routine maintenance to ensure the longevity of structures


KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Extensive knowledge of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and elevators

  • Sound knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment

  • Quality assurance

  • Safety precautions

  • PLC knowledge and understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings

  • Experience with compressors, chillers, boilers, and related services

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Troubleshooting and good communication skills

  • Teamwork

  • Initiative, innovation, honesty, and integrity


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade I Trade Test Electrician

  • Electrical Diploma

  • Grade 12 / Metric / O’ Level

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in a similar environment

  • Light Duty Driver’s License


REMUNERATION

The position comes with a market-related competitive package.
