DOUBLE QUALIFIED NURSE (FTC)
(2 Year Fixed Term Contract)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to the above position that has arisen in the Estate Support Function, reporting to the Nursing Manager.
The main purpose is to contribute to delivering a range of nursing, clinical and public/community health services that aim to promote health and enhance the quality of patient care services. This should be done in a way that ensures patient safety and optimal well-being through recommended best practice and collaboration with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care and management.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Conduct primary patient case management (i.e., consultation, prescribing and dispensing of medication), where appropriate and in line with stipulated country regulations.
- Conduct antenatal assessments, monitoring fetal well-being and managing complications as they arise in line with mid-wifery best practice.
- Manage the intrapartum period, including conducting deliveries, managing pain, and providing emotional support to parents.
- Conduct nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, IV cannula insertion, catheterization, wound dressing, oral and parenteral drug administration.
- Assist in medical procedures such as suturing, caesareans sections, caring for mothers during complicated deliveries, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment while strictly adhering to best-practice protocols and patient safety standards.
- Participate in community health promotion activities (including preparing and coordinating health education programs).
- Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary medical team to provide holistic and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a professional, empathetic, and patient-first approach to ensure a positive and high-quality service experience for all stakeholders.
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control guidelines and universal precaution procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Promote and adhere to ABF’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Antibribery and Corruption (ABC).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- General Nursing Diploma.
- Diploma in Midwifery or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical work experience.
- Registration and valid practising licence with Eswatini Nursing Council.
- Basic computer proficiency/literacy.
- Clinical skills and knowledge of best practice in nursing and midwifery care.
- NARTIS Training.
- Added advantage: Emergency care training/exposure or theatre nursing.
- Added advantage: Ability to use Healthcare Software.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work night shift, weekends, and public holidays.
