DEBTORS CLERK
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Ensure accuracy and efficiency of the debtor’s book in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 2 years’ work experience in a Debtor’s role
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Proficient MS Office Excel
- Experience with an Accounting software, preferably SAP
- Must have a smart phone

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
- Ensure accuracy of customers ledgers through periodic reconciliations
- Verify, validate and approve claims made of payment, in compliance with trading terms
- Complete ACCPAC invoicing and cashbook processing
- Record VAT payments from stock returns timely
- Process adjusting entries (rebates, discounts) in line with trading terms, policies and SOPs
- Issue customer statements using defined frequencies
- Follow up on debtors payments in line with payment terms
- Record payments received and allocate payments in customer ledgers in line with remittance advice received from customers
- Attend to and resolve debtors queries
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned
