Key Responsibilities
Autosteer & Precision System Installation
- Assist senior technicians in installing autosteer, GPS guidance, and machine control systems on heavy equipment.
- Support configuration of hardware components such as steering controllers, sensors, antennas, displays, and wiring harnesses.
- Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.
Calibration, Testing & Optimization
- Support the calibration of autosteer systems for row tracking, controlled traffic, and field navigation.
- Assist with field testing to validate system performance under varying terrain, crop density and weather conditions.
- Learn to optimize machine settings to reduce overlap, soil compaction, and crop damage.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Assist with diagnosing faults on autosteer, GPS, CAN-bus, hydraulic steering, and electrical control systems.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance under guidance from senior technicians.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to minimize equipment downtime.
Heavy Equipment & Systems Integration
- Support the integration of autosteer systems with hydraulic, steering, and drivetrain systems on heavy machinery.
- Collaborate with mechanical and fleet maintenance teams to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with system upgrades or retrofits on older equipment.
Data Management & System Performance
- Help configure guidance lines, field boundaries, and machine profiles.
- Support monitoring of system performance and error reports.
- Assist operations teams with data interpretation to improve routing and field efficiency.
Operator Training & Support
- Assist in training equipment operators on correct use of autosteer and guidance systems.
- Provide guidance on troubleshooting and best-practice usage under supervision.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, calibrations, repairs, and system updates.
Vendor & Technology Liaison
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers, system suppliers, and software providers under guidance.
- Stay up-to-date with new autosteer technologies and industry best practices.

| Minimum Requirements |
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive
- Electronics, Precision Agriculture, or related field (essential).
- 2 Years, including internships or industrial training with autosteer, GPS guidance, or precision agriculture systems preferred.
- Field-based exposure in agriculture, mining, or logistics environments is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of GPS, RTK, GNSS, and machine guidance systems.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Familiarity with CAN-bus systems and machine electronics is a plus.
- Willingness to learn diagnostics tools, calibration software, and firmware updates.
- Understanding of heavy equipment steering and hydraulic systems desirable.
