Job Overview
Probase Eswatini (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Automotive Electrician to join its technical team in Sidvokodvo.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems across diverse operations, ranging from industrial plant machinery to the company’s fleet of motor vehicles. This role is essential in ensuring operational continuity and the safety of technical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Machinery Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs on industrial electrical systems, control panels, automated systems, and high-voltage machinery.
- Automotive Electrical Services: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in company motor vehicles, including issues with ignition systems, charging circuits, lighting, sensors, and computer-controlled automotive modules.
- System Upgrades & Installation: Assist with the installation of new electrical components, ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and industry standards.
- Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs and maintenance activities performed on equipment and vehicles to support asset management and compliance reporting.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to internal HR policies and safety protocols, ensuring that all electrical work is conducted in a hazard-free environment.
Requirements
- Technical Qualifications: Relevant certification or trade diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience involving both plant machinery and motor vehicle electrical systems.
- Driver’s Licence: Valid and clean driver’s licence is mandatory, as the role may require travel between operational sites.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits efficiently and minimise downtime.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively to meet operational deadlines.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company’s fleet of motor vehicles and heavy plant machinery, ensuring all equipment remains in optimal working condition to support ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on both motor vehicles and heavy plant machinery.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform high-quality repairs in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and maintenance protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Field Support: Provide on-site mechanical support for project sites as required.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy plant machinery (e.g. excavators, loaders, motor graders) and light motor vehicles.
- Licensing: Possession of a valid driver’s licence is mandatory.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively to meet operational deadlines.
