POSITION
Assistant Accountant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cashbook Management & Bank Reconciliations
Capture/post cashbook transactions, perform daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, maintain records of deposits and payments.
Payments Processing
Prepare payment vouchers, process supplier payments, verify and match invoices to purchase orders, apply statutory deductions, maintain invoice register.
General Ledger & Cost Centre Allocations
Post transactions to correct accounts, review ledger entries, support month-end/year-end closing, process corrective journal entries.
Financial Reporting Support
Compile and analyse GL data for reports, verify entries, assist in preparing management accounts and financial statements.
Payroll Processing
Process monthly payroll, maintain employee records, reconcile payroll accounts, prepare payroll reports.
Petty Cash Management
Manage petty cash float, reconcile regularly, maintain records for audit.
Administrative Support
Support procurement/payment processes, file financial records, respond to auditor/management queries.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent
- Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks or similar, plus Microsoft Excel
- Minimum 2 years in a financial/accounting environment
- Knowledge of payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- High attention to detail, analytical skills, confidentiality
- Excellent English and SiSwati communication skills
