Artisan Fitter (Process Maintenance)

The Job
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Company Employees for appointment to the above-mentioned position in the Factory Function – Process Maintenance reporting to the Maintenance Foreman.
Key Performance Areas
• Perform daily checks on all plant under your area of responsibility with the view to prevent breakdowns by rectifying the problems as they are encountered.
• Stripping, cleaning, overhauling, recording information, repair and installation of pumps, gearboxes, valves etc.
• Motor, gearbox and pump alignments.
• Install screwed pipe works and fittings.
• Perform rigging work as required.
• Perform standby duties according to a roster compiled by the Planning department.
• Assist in the training of apprentices and students placed under your control.
• Enhance the standard of house keeping.
• Ensure work is done to the highest standards of safety and follows safe work rules.
• Promote and adhere to Company procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or N4 Certificate or equivalent.
• Trade Test Certificate.
• Completed apprenticeship with at least two years post apprenticeship experience.
• Knowledge of Mechanical spares.
• Knowledge of the Continuous Improvement System.
