VACANCY

CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER

The Company is inviting applications from qualified and motivated professionals for the vacant role of Cyber Security Engineer. This position is responsible for safeguarding EEC’s information assets, technology infrastructure, applications and data across the organization, reporting to the Information Technology Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

• Post-Graduate Degree in IT or Project Management is an added advantage.

• Industry Certifications (e.g. CISA, CCNA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, Secure coding) will be an added advantage.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• At least 5 years working experience in Cyber Security Architecture roles with 2 years working in a management role, preferably in a critical infrastructure, utilities or regulated environments.

• Technical ability to define strategy and roadmap for Cyber security programs, frameworks, solutions and lead in remediation of cyber risks and vulnerabilities.

• Strong experience in IT Security Infrastructure, Application security and Identity & Access Management (IAM) controls.

• Internal and Remote Access Security Deployments (e.g. Firewalls, VPNs, MFA, SSO, endpoint protection, SIEM, XDR, IDS/IPS, MDM, ZTNA, RBAC and fine-grained access controls, DLP, Cloud security).

• Application Security hardening (e.g. secure coding, automation, Scripting, API security, etc.).

• Microsoft, Linux stack, SIEM, cloud platforms, ICS/SCADA systems and NIST/ISO 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, IEC 62443, CSF, GDPR/Eswatini Data Protection frameworks.

• Strong background in SDLC and Enterprise Risk management frameworks.

Deep expertise in:

• Network protocols, IDS/IPS, VAPT methods.

• ITIL/COBIT knowledge.

• Ability to automate using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Shell or similar tools.

MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

To serve as a Cybersecurity lead professional who provides strategic and technical leadership for the organization’s cybersecurity function. The incumbent oversees all aspects of cybersecurity across the technology and critical infrastructure stack (i.e. both IT & OT), focusing on governance, risk, disaster recovery, application and infrastructure security, identity and access management, security operations, incident response and regulatory compliance – reporting directly to the IT Manager.
