GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
MECHANIC / RAMP HANDLING AGENT
Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Ground Operations Manager, the GSE Maintenance / Ramp Handling Agent will form part of RENAC’s ramp handling team and from time to time the incumbent will also perform ramp handling functions.
Key Areas of Responsibility
-
Performing standard mechanical repairs, such as minor services, changing brake pads.

Develop professional relationship with internal and external customers ensuring effective GSE operations.

To carry out routine equipment maintenance, including inspections to ensure it meets regulatory requirements.

Testing equipment before and after repair procedures.
-
Maintaining the workshop and customer areas and keeping inventory well organized.
-
Ordering new parts.
-
Writing maintenance reports.
-
To carry out quality control using various regulated tests and techniques.

To demonstrate responsiveness to the needs of internal customers, often under pressurized conditions.

To deliver an excellent service within the airport to customers and staff alike.

Ensure the appropriate standards of safety and security are adhered to.

Responsible for daily record keeping and reporting.

Comply with company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policy.
-
Assure proper compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
-
Follow Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations.

Comply with other general office duties as assigned.

Percentage of GSE serviceable and available for operations

Percentage of scheduled PM tasks completed on time

Compliance with safety protocols, PPE use, and ramp safety standards

Updates made in maintenance systems (e.g., AMOS, RAMCO, or internal tools) within the required time frame

Cooperation with ramp, engineering, and operations teams

Attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company values

Identifying opportunities to lower repair costs without compromising safety
Minimum Qualifications
-
Diploma in motor mechanics or equivalent
-
Valid driver’s license (Heavy Duty)
-
Airside Safety Training, IATA Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and Aviation Safety Awareness Training (added advantage)
Experience
-
Work experience in heavy plant equipment or vehicle maintenance
